Reading

Leading from the Emerging Future by Otto Scharmer and Katrin Kaufer

About a year ago, I joined a course with the same name, and started to read this book gradually during the year. It brings some interesting cross discipline ideas together in a systemic approach to proactively leading in times of complexity and uncertainty, aiming to make a positive impact.

Rooted — Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit by Lyanda Lynn Haupt

This is a book that I am still reading, but I wanted to recommend it. I am always curious about the links between what we rationally can explain, often supported by science, and what we struggle to explain, often rooted in nature and spirit. In many ways, the title of the book is closely in tune with how I want to approach coaching, to serve my coachees in finding roots in who they are in themselves and in the bigger context of nature and spirit.

Thinking

As it's the beginning of the year, I have chosen to share some questions that help reflect on the that's past, and what is important to me in the year ahead.

New year reflection
Whether we choose to plan on a yearly basis or not, the beginning of a new year is always a good time for reflection. Looking back at the past year provides a mental container that is familiar, that we can explore, evaluate our experience, our actions, and make choices for

A topic that I have been pondering for a long time is our perception of value and meaning. This is only a draft, but I decided to share some initial thoughts, as I continue to explore this.

On Value
(This is a draft for a longer essay to come...) Value is inevitably relative. However, as I look around me, we seem to have lost focus on what value really means. As we don’t have enough clarity what we really value, we struggle to prioritise our time and energy to

What's coming up next

More than anything, I look forward to engage in further coaching during the new year, and hope to grow the number people a I coach a little bit.

In parallel with that, I am still sketching on a part one of a course that I am shaping, around Nature² Connected Leadership. It will integrate two key components of tuning in to our inner nature, as well as becoming more nature connected (to the world around us). Part 1 of the course will focus on Self leadership, as leadership is rooted within and this provides the foundation for the following parts — Leading others and Leading for impact.

I hope to share the full details of this course material shortly!
